Greg Johnson, lead vocals and guitar
Greg Johnson appeared on the Cape Cod music scene back in the early 1980’s as part of the acoustic folk, pop, rock duo, “Crimson Sky." After a decade of gigs on the Cape and around New England, Greg began recording and performing his own original music. His three CD’s reflect the same mellow, self-reflective narrative and style of his biggest influence, James Taylor.
During the 1990’s, Greg collaborated with the Orleans Conservation Trust and helped spearhead a trio of large-scale concerts entitled “Songs for Space." These concerts were aimed at raising both funding and an awareness of the Cape's fragile and vanishing open space. The concerts also featured Patty Larkin, John Gorka and Greg Greenway.
Greg continues to perform locally with a variety of musicians and
has opened for a host of folkies including Cliff Eberhardt, Sloan
Wainwright and James’ sister, Kate Taylor. People have long compared Greg’s appearance and sound to James Taylor, so putting together a tribute band was an obvious direction to take.
Dr. Julie Sieben, vocals
Julie Sieben D.C, started her college career at Berklee College of Music studying piano and voice. Though the healing arts ended up to be her true calling, she pursued a career in chiropractic medicine and maintains a private practice in Chatham. She has also authored a book called Six Weeks to Love Running. Julie has performed in many musicals as well as played with several bands in the Boston area. She continues to enjoy being involved in the performing arts on Cape Cod with husband, Greg Johnson.
Brian Morris, guitar, mandolin, keyboards, piano, vocals
Brian Morris has owned and operated Morris Creative Services in North Eastham, MA since 1998. His company offers a variety of services, including commercial voice-overs, audiobook narration, Pro Tools recording and editing, remote recording and original music production.
Brian has extensive experience in public radio as a reporter, producer, editor and on-air host. He also spent 6 years as a field producer for the nationally syndicated CBS Radio program “The Osgood File.” Brian is also a commercial composer, award-winning songwriter, and published photographer.
John Pells, bass guitar
John is a multi-talented musician. He most often plays bass with the James Taylor Tribute Band but can also be heard playing other gigs around the Cape as well.
Derrick Bussiere, drums
Mostly self taught, Derick received his first drum set from his uncle at age 9 and began playing along with an eclectic mix of 8 tracks in his parents basement. At 12 years old he played his first gig with his fathers band.
Derick has recorded and gigged with various groups on Cape Cod and continues to do so presently. He can be seen with his band Twenty Eight as well as Andrea, Judge and the Sinner, and Four Guys Cape Cod. Derick joined Shower the People James Taylor Tribute Band in 2015.
Janet Leahy, vocals
Janet’s parents gave her a burlap covered phonograph in 1964, along with the soundtrack to the film Mary Poppins. Thus began a love affair with the voice of Julie Andrews, and the inspiration for a lifelong love of singing. Janet teaches music to children at the Wellfleet Montessori School. She also sings in a duo with band member Brian Morris, performing monthly at Epoch Assisted Living in Brewster, and at other venues around Cape Cod. She has also directed and acted in a number of locally-produced plays, including “The Laramie Project” for Eventide Arts in Dennis.
Mike Garvan, guest artist on piano
Mike Garvan sits in with the James Taylor Tribute Band when he's not exciting other audiences with his talented piano playing. Mike is heard with many local jazz people such as Ron Ormsby, Bart Weisman and more, as venues on and off the Cape.
